I'm Richard Emijere. I live in Lagos, Nigeria, where I build the future.
I'm a Senior Software Engineer and AI Solution Architect based in Lagos, Nigeria, with 5+ years designing and owning production systems end-to-end and 2+ years building production-grade LLM-powered AI agents at scale.
My work sits at the intersection of backend systems engineering and AI - I design multi-agent architectures, RAG pipelines, and model routing systems that go beyond prototypes into real production environments. I care deeply about the engineering fundamentals that make AI systems reliable: fault isolation, observability, cost control, and async concurrency.
Currently at FCMB Group, I'm building AI banking platforms that process 100K+ daily financial transactions at 99.9% uptime - including a cost-aware LLM routing layer that reduced inference costs by 30%, async WebSocket middleware that cut end-to-end latency by 60%, and end-to-end observability across all agent workflows that drove a 40% reduction in undetected failures.
Before focusing on AI systems, I spent years building the foundations: distributed APIs, fault-tolerant ETL pipelines, containerised microservices on AWS and Azure, and full-stack applications serving tens of thousands of concurrent users. That engineering depth is what makes the AI systems I build reliable enough for production.
I hold a B.Sc. in Petroleum & Gas Engineering from the University of Lagos - a non-traditional path into tech that I think gives me a different angle on problem-solving and systems thinking.
